At Smile Fund USA, our mission is rooted in one simple truth: everyone deserves access to life-changing dental care, regardless of income, insurance status, or background.

Our Early Wins
Since our launch, we’ve received over 20 grant applications. However, the majority of applicants are located outside of San Diego or California. Additionally, some submissions are missing important contact details, such as a full address or phone number. If you plan to apply, please ensure your contact information is complete so we can follow up.

We’re excited to share that three local dentists have already expressed interest in becoming provider partners.
Meanwhile, we are actively applying for grant funding from national organizations and businesses within the dental and medical industries to expand our reach and impact.

Breaking Down Barriers to Care
Today, millions of Americans still face overwhelming challenges when it comes to affording dental treatment. In fact, over one-third of U.S. adults do not have dental insurance (National Association of Dental Plans, 2021). For those living on moderate or limited incomes, this gap often means postponing or forgoing essential care.

Dental implants, one of the most effective solutions for missing teeth, can cost between $3,000 and $5,000 per tooth, and more complex procedures can exceed $20,000. Most insurance plans either don’t cover implants or offer only partial coverage. As a result, this critical treatment remains out of reach for many who need it most.
Reaching Underserved Communities
We focus on helping individuals and families earning between $30,000 and $75,000 per year, a demographic often caught in the middle: not qualifying for public aid, yet unable to afford private dental care. This population is more likely to be uninsured and to delay dental treatment due to financial hardship (CDC & ADA Health Policy Institute).

Our grant recipients are carefully screened and referred to compassionate, high-quality dental practices in their local area, ensuring that the care they receive is not only affordable but exceptional.
Restoring More Than Just Smiles
Tooth loss can affect people of all ages, but especially adults over 35. Whether caused by aging, trauma, or untreated decay, the result is the same—discomfort, limited function, and a loss of confidence. Through our program, recipients are able to reclaim not just their health, but their dignity and quality of life.
